TEN PORTRAITS TEN STORIES

Hasselblad medium format Since 1994 I photographed ten young people who were addicted to heroin. As I was taking their portraits they wrote their life stories that they shared with me. I followed many of these for many years and I continued to document the life of Dave, in and out of rehabs with a never-ending hope of recovery, till he passed away in 2018. Dave is greatly missed and as a constant reminder of our friendship is Jacko, the dog he loved and handed over to me as he gradually lost his health.
